Evolution and Future Trends in Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIEd)
Abstract
AIEd has widely facilitated the transformation of practices in teaching and learning environment as well as the organizational administrative functioning in the education system. Growing from rule-and-coded programs in instruction applications and early types of instructional software, AIEd is an improved system that consists of ITS, EDM, and adaptive learning. These innovations have enabled the emergence of the learning map to meet the learner needs with different learning approaches which are cognition, behaviour and emotion learning styles. Many of such issues are not only explained with reference to examples and existing experiences and lessons of AIEd at its current stage, but also discussed further opportunities and trends for AIEd, including the further applications and developments of the immersive learning technologies like AR/VR; the advanced paradigms of AI + X Education integrated with cognitive science theories and insights from other disciplines; and the use cases of lifelong learning solutions pertinent to the rapidly changing global work environment.
