Abstract
In present scenario automation is playing a very crucial role in modern industries, pharmaceuticals, logistics and various sectors. Automation performs the tasks efficiently, increases the productivity and reduces the errors. It helps in developing to sustainable technologies such as smart cities, electric vehicles and green buildings etc. The paper provides a detailed explanation about all the positive and negative impacts of automation on environment such as it provides different views that not only the usage of automation increases the efficiency of the production, saving time and reduces error but also it generates some e-waste during the disposal of heavy and outdated machinery and some Green House Gases that play a significant role to pollutes the environment. It also highlights the methods to reduces these environmental risks of automation. It also includes the significant steps taken by the government such as the establishment of National Green Tribunal in 2010 and Central Pollution Control Board to reduces the environmental issues and provides a way forward.
