Abstract
Physical activity significantly affects health in several ways. Physical activity plays a crucial role in energy expenditure. The body undergoes various complex series of energy transfers to meet the unmet needs and demands of the body for that particular bodily movement or physical activity. Efficient energy transfer is essential for optimal performance during physical exercise. The body breaks down carbohydrate, fat, and protein into glucose and through metabolic pathways, glucose is transferred into ATP and utilized during aerobic, and anaerobic activities. resting metabolic rate (RMR) and factors affecting RMR. Carbohydrates break down into glucose and are stored mainly in the form of glycogen. Physical activity demands a dynamic interplay of energy transfer mechanisms within the human body. This chapter explores the intricate processes by which energy is mobilized, transferred, and utilized during various forms of physical exercise.
