Abstract

This research explores strategies to boost research output among academicians in Tamil Nadu's self-financing colleges. Despite higher education's research emphasis, these professionals face challenges in conducting and disseminating research. Identifying effective empowerment strategies is crucial for enhancing the research culture. The study aims to link academician empowerment to improved research performance by examining personal, professional, technological, institutional, and community factors. It highlights the balancing act between teaching, administrative duties, and research responsibilities, compounded by limited resources like time and infrastructure. Using a quantitative approach with 197 participants, the research employs analysis, exploring relationships Findings underscore the positive impact of empowerment on research performance, with implications for policymakers and administrators to enhance environments and academic quality in these institutions, despite limitations in sample representativeness and the study's focus on self-financing colleges within Tamil Nadu.
