Abstract
Organizations are becoming more and more conscious of the role that people play in achieving and preserving competitive advantage. According to the happy worker-productive worker thesis, employees who report feeling well-being at work will also perform well, and vice versa. However, organizations must know how to maintain such happy and productive employees. More recently, the movement for positive mental health has expanded beyond clinical settings and established a significant presence in workplace environments. Professors constantly attempt to balance their personal and professional obligations while dealing with the ubiquitous stress of handling expectations in a frequently hypercompetitive atmosphere. There is a constant worry that we might mess up, and if that were to happen, we would feel alone and responsible. The system makes the assumption that we are mature, skilled, and resilient enough to handle all the pressure that comes with the work.
