Abstract

Digital transformation and value-based healthcare are reshaping medical education globally, including in Malaysia. Traditional knowledge-focused teaching is no longer enough as healthcare systems struggle with rapid technological developments, rising patient demands, and sustainability concerns. Value-based medical education develops doctors and healthcare providers with clinical competence, ethical decision-making, patient-centred management, resource optimisation, empathy, and ethical professionalism. The success, however, depends on digital leadership to integrate technology while preserving human values. UniSZA's Flexible Education with Soul (FlexS) model is a pioneering method that systematically combines digital flexibility with holistic, values-driven education. Important issues including digital equity, ethical enquiries, and infrastructural deficits are hotly debated. The chapter provides strategic advice to guarantee that digital leadership promotes ethical, inclusive, and sustainable change in medical education.
