Development Environment, Tools, and SDKs for Serverless Computing
Abstract
Serverless applications require a good development environment and the right tools. This chapter guides serverless computing application developers through installing and utilising essential components and technologies. VSCode is a robust code editor and debugger. Easy installation provides developers with a diverse code editing and debugging platform. AWSToolkit for VS Code simplifies serverless application development, testing, and release on Amazon web services (AWS). Fast setup with step-by-step instruction makes AWS serverless development easy for developers. Node.js is needed for serverless apps. Developers require Node.js for local and cloud serverless operations. This chapter briefly describes installation. Postman is essential for serverless API testing. Postman installation and use for serverless API testing and troubleshooting are covered in this chapter. Developers seeking efficiency will benefit. These concepts let developers build a strong development environment, integrate AWS resources, and leverage SDKs to build serverless apps.
