Deft Organizational Maneuverability as an Alignment With Organizational Viability … Or, “But We've Always Done It This Way”: Elasticity and Response Ability Within Higher Education as a Reflection of the Larger Society
Abstract
Embedded higher education organization participants within higher education organizations engaged in a reflective interview process, a critically analytic journey, considering organizational viability within the bounds of higher education topics of impact and influence, including higher education as an organizational imperative, learning and unlearning as an organization, ethics and integrity as organizational practices, and the higher education organization's place and space within the larger society within which it is ensconced. The organizational viability and experiential understanding support the analysis of participant transcripts that reflect deeply personal journeys and experiences within the higher education organizational milieu. The findings focus upon three overarching thematic findings that emphasize socialization, collegiality, and political positioning and leapfrogging forward.
