Abstract
This paper explores the integration of refugee rights into Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) implementation by comparing India's legal frameworks with international best practices. It examines laws, policy documents, and institutional mechanisms to assess how refugee rights are reflected in national development strategies. Drawing from case studies in India and jurisdictions across Europe, Latin America, and Asia, it evaluates the development, strengths, and gaps in existing legal regimes. The study combines doctrinal analysis with insights from legal experts, offering empirical perspectives on practical challenges and implementation barriers. Key findings highlight divergent national approaches to legal compliance, revealing the need for context-specific, rights-based strategies that align refugee protection with sustainable development. The paper concludes with targeted policy suggestions to improve legal safeguards for refugees and promote alignment between domestic frameworks and global SDG commitments.
