Abstract

The need for collaboration of academia and Tourism industry has risen with the rise in inflow and outflow of tourist, not only domestic but international. This in turn has given a thrust to trained manpower for this service industry, as the tourist expectation is high on carrying back the best experience. It should be the aim of human resource to generate experiences providing a lasting impression. Hence, it has become mandatory to train the industry personnel on regular basis and also create skilled man power from the institutes. The objective of the chapter is to establish an understanding on how a collaboration can benefit both the academia and industry. It aims to skill, reskill, multi-skill and upskill the employee from time to time and make them relevant in the ever changing scenario of the most vibrant tourism industry. The Industry can take help of Institute for carrying out R&D and to solve any technical hurdles, and on the other hand the students & faculties get a chance to further hone their skills & knowledge
