Abstract
Forests breathe life for a large terrestrial section of the biodiversity by regulating climatic changes, soil quality, water cycles, and curbing the threat to many of the natural disasters like landslides, floods, earthquakes etc. It contains many renewable and non-renewable energy sources to sustain the human life on this Earth. In fact the livelihood of the people directly and indirectly revolves around these resources gifted by mother nature. As the amount of non-renewable sources is depleting day by day people are becoming more conscious about the use of renewable energy sources. Renewable energy has been recognized globally as a sustainable alternative to dirty fossil fuels, providing a path to deal with green house effect, which peaks as the key cause of climatic changes like untimely rain and excessively high temperatures and achieve a low carbon emission future. Case studies are being done around latest trends, technologies and sustainability aspects in the field of renewable energy. Various sources such as solar, wind, hydro, biomass, tidal and geothermal energy are being examined for highlighting their contribution to the global energy mix and potential for further expansion in the near future. There have been many recent advancements in the renewable energy sector such as solar cells, wind turbines and energy storage systems as well as posing some of the challenges such as intermittency, grid integration and policy frameworks. The renewable energy possess many socio-economic and environmental benefits and is in the need for continuous investment, innovation and international cooperation to accelerate the transition to a less carbon emissions. Using the resources prudently also means keeping an eye on the amount of waste generated. Waste management also emerge as one of the critical global challenge because of rapid operations, urbanization, industrialization and population growth. It looks at different strategies such as recycling, composting, landfill management and waste-to-energy technologies and emphasizes the importance of a holistic and sustainable approach. The case studies regarding the AI-driven solutions for key challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of public awareness and regulatory barriers are discussed, along with emerging trends. The problem of land filling, like the Bordo Poniente dump has been highlighted for causing contamination in soil and water, altering fauna, health problems, accidents, eyesore, and reduced values of surrounding areas. Resource conservation has become increasingly important due to increasing population pressure and environmental degradation. It explores different approaches such as sustainable farming, water efficiency, energy efficiency and biodiversity conservation and highlights their role in promoting ecological resilience and socio-economic development. The paper also examines the environmental, social and economic impacts resulting from depletion and deterioration of natural resources, emphasizing the urgency of joint action. For this the Artificial Intelligence comes to an aid. Based on several real-life examples, the publication examines how artificial intelligence technologies have revolutionized decision-making processes, optimized operational efficiency, and facilitated the transition to greener and more sustainable practices. The key points of the case studies include the application of artificial intelligence algorithms to optimize wind and solar power, proactive maintenance of renewable energy infrastructure, smart grid management and real-time monitoring of energy consumption. The systematic analysis of the presented case studies, highlights the transformative potential of AI to drive innovation and sustainability across various sectors, eventually contribute for the global transition to a more sustainable future.
