Bioinformatics in Monitoring and Enhancing Wastewater Treatment Processes
Abstract
Bioinformatics is essential in monitoring and improving wastewater treatment processes. Various spectroscopic methods combined with chemometric tools are effective for monitoring and controlling bioprocesses in wastewater treatment systems. Integrating metagenomic sequencing with viral epidemiology enhances the monitoring of pathogenic viruses in wastewater, offering predictive intelligence for virus-related diseases. In biological wastewater treatment, innovative approaches like microbial sensors and enhanced process monitoring methods propose to enhance process control and efficiency in treatment plants.
