Abstract
This chapter explores how AI and predictive analytics, as well as advanced next-gen technologies, are transforming traditional agriculture into smart farming with IoT technologies in the Smart City Environment. Integration of IoT devices, AI, blockchain, drones, 6G networks, edge computing, and digital twins enables real-time monitoring of various agricultural activities. AI-backed predictive models help in forecasting irrigation needs, identifying early crop health monitoring, and optimizing resource usage. Blockchain and smart contracts help in ensuring data security and transparency. However, challenges include cybersecurity risks, limited rural connectivity, and the need for improved digital literacy is evident. The chapter discusses and highlights both advancements in technology and the role of policy, governance, and digital inclusion in achieving secure and efficient smart agriculture.
