Abstract
As India rapidly advances in artificial intelligence (AI), the need for robust ethical frameworks and comprehensive data privacy measures has become increasingly critical. This paper explores the current landscape of AI ethics and privacy concerns within India, highlighting key developments such as the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Bill (PDPB) and various state-level initiatives like the Karnataka AI Policy 2023. It examines how these efforts align with global standards and address emerging challenges in the digital age. The chapter also contrasts India's approach with those of other developing nations, showcasing the unique hurdles and strategies employed. The disparateness and the importance of strengthening regulatory frameworks, promoting ethical AI practices, enhancing public awareness, and fostering international collaboration.
