Abstract
Cutting-edge technologies and pedagogies provide ample space to enhance competencies and professional development. This chapter focuses on the adoption of MOOCs by librarians in an Africa country and discusses how librarians can improve skills and professional development using MOOCs, which provide infrastructure, resources, and other support. This chapters also concludes that there is big gap in the Africa country in contrast to other developed countries in terms of adoption of massive open online courses (MOOCs) by the library and information science professionals, especially librarians.
