Abstract

The combination of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is important in shaping the future of work and addressing ethical concerns in AI integration. AI's role in various industries, such as education, retail, healthcare, finance, etc., is expanding, offering efficiency but also raising ethical issues. For instance, while AI systems like ChatGPT streamline research processes, they cannot inherently manage ethical considerations, a task that falls to human users guided by EI. Emotional Intelligence, with its focus on understanding and managing emotions, enhancing communication, collaboration, and decision-making, is essential in today's AI-driven world. In this article, the authors focused on using an exploratory approach to understand the role of emotional intelligence in adapting to the future of work where human and machine capabilities coexist effectively and ethically. A number of strategies were recommended to help organizations effectively combine AI and EI, ensuring adaptability to a thriving future of work.
