Özlem Acar
Özlem Acar
is a assistant professor specializing in security and intelligence studies at the Turkish National Police Academy. After completing her Public Administration studies at Gazi University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, she went on to obtain a Master's degree in Political and Social Sciences at the same university. She then completed her doctorate in Security Strategies and Management at the Police Academy's Institute of Security Sciences. Beginning her professional career in 2006, Acar has conducted research in the fields of radicalisation, terrorism and intelligence, security and political situation in the Middle East. During this period, she has been to Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan and Yemen. Acar, who speaks English and French, has published works on regional security and policy analysis. He is the author of the book entitled ‘The Two Faces of Hashd al-Shaabi: The Iraq-Iran Rivalry’.
