Ömer Çakın
Assoc. Prof. Dr.
Ömer Çakın
was born in Aksaray, Türkiye, in 1983. He graduated with high honors from the Department of Journalism, Faculty of Communication, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University in 2007. He completed his master’s and doctoral studies between 2007 and 2014 at the Institute of Social Sciences of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. Dr. Çakın began his academic career in 2009 at the Faculty of Communication of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, and currently continues his career as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Communication, Ondokuz Mayıs University. His research interests include advertising and culture, the Kyrgyz press, and media studies. He is the author of a national book titled Advertising and Localization, and has contributed chapters to several books on political communication, integrated marketing communication, and local narratives in Central Asia. Dr. Çakın has also published various articles in both national and international journals on these subjects. In addition to his academic work, he has served as Publication Coordinator of Gazete Manas, the institutional publication of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, as well as Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at the Faculty of Communication, and Director of Çarşamba Vocational School at Ondokuz Mayıs University. He is currently serving as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Communication at Ondokuz Mayıs University.
