Marco Antonio Moreno-Ibarra

Marco Moreno-Ibarra. Professor of the Laboratory of Intelligent Processing of Geospatial Information of the Centre for Computer Research (CIC) of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) of Mexico. He received his PhD in Computer Science in 2007 and he is member of the National Research System level 2. Former Director of the Centro Nacional de Cálculo (CENAC) of the IPN, former Director of Systems, Informatics and Telecommunications of National Council of Research Science and Technology (CONACYT). He has over 100 articles in journals, national and international conferences as well as being a reviewer for publications. He teaches the courses of Foundations of Geographic Information Science and Tools for the design and implementation of GIS within the master and doctorate programs in computer science at CIC-IPN. He has been advisor of more than 17 MSc and 5 PhD theses. His research areas include GIS design, automatic generalization, volunteered geographic information and geospatial semantic similarity.
