İlker Yengin

Dr. Ilker Yengin holds a PhD degree in Education with an “Instructional Technologies” major, University of Nebraska Lincoln (UNL). His academic works includes developing, designing and evaluating social collaboration tools for cognition and learning. He explores how to design social technologies to enable learning interactions to develop higher order skills such as collaborative knowledge and creativity. Yengin’s research addresses questions such as “How social educational technologies realize the development of skills required for 21st-century life? How should we design the future learning environments with the support of social and interactive educational technologies to create effective learning communities?” Parallel to his research agenda, he formed “Collaborative Thinking and Technologies” (CTT) research group in Agency of Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Institute of High Performance Computing, Social & Cognitive Computing Department, Singapore. Before CTT, he worked in “Social Tutoring Robot” project in “Intuitive Interaction Technologies” (IIT) interdisciplinary research group in A*STAR, Computer Science Department.
