Zarina Burkadze
is a distinguished scholar with a keen interest in political dynamics, specializing in comparative politics, democratization, and political violence. She earned her doctoral degree in Political Science at the University of Zurich (2014 -2018). During her time there, she delved deep into the intricacies of political systems, fostering a profound understanding of democratic processes and mechanisms. Burkadze's scholarly pursuits led her to the United States as a Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholar at the Elliot School of International Affairs at George Washington University. Her tenure as a Fulbright scholar from 2019 to 2020 was marked by a rigorous exploration of democracy promotion and autocracy promotion, resulting in the book publication with Rochester University Press (2022). Her scholarly contributions have significantly advanced the understanding of democratization processes, shedding light on the dynamics of political violence and the intricate interplay between democratic and autocratic forces. With an unwavering dedication to academic excellence, she continues to push the boundaries of knowledge in her field, employing rigorous methodologies and innovative approaches to address pressing questions in contemporary politics.
