Viktorija Soņeca
Viktorija Soņeca
is a PhD candidate in Legal Sciences at the University of Latvia, with her defense scheduled for November 5, 2025. She currently serves as an advisor to the Supreme Court of Latvia on matters concerning European Union law. Previously, she led the European Court of Justice Department at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Latvia, where she represented the country before the Court of Justice of the European Union. Additionally, she worked as the legal editor for the national journal Jurista Vārds and served as a national expert on digital issues for the OECD. Currently, she serves as a guest lecturer at the Riga Graduate School of Law and is a researcher specializing in European Union law, civil law, lobbying, and artificial intelligence.
