Veronica McKay
Veronika McKay
is a Distinguished Professor at the University of South Africa, where she previously held the positions of Executive Dean of the College of Education and Acting Vice Principal for Teaching and Learning. She has a strong interest in education as a vehicle for empowerment. Her commitment to educational equity was exemplified through her leadership as Chief Executive Officer of the South African National Literacy Campaign within the Ministry of Basic Education. An interdisciplinary researcher, Prof McKay has published extensively in the fields of teacher education, curriculum studies, adult education, and the Sustainable Development Goals. Her work focuses on the intersection of research and policy, with a particular emphasis on evidence-informed educational reform. She is also an Honorary Fellow of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning.
