Tymon M. Graham
Dr. Tymon M. Graham serves as Vice President of Student Affairs at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, Florida. Prior to joining the Florida Memorial University, Dr. Graham held university administrative roles at South Georgia State College, Coker University, Kentucky State University and Edward Waters University. With a career not singularly shaped by an institutional context, his work expands into the national non-profit and research sectors at the Dr. N. Joyce Payne Research Center at Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Cultivating collaborative and data-driven work in Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Student Success, Strategic Initiatives, Title IX, and evidence-based research on a national scale, Dr. Graham has uniquely blended his experiences to advance the higher education space. Additionally, Dr. Graham has held academic and/or academic committee appointments at University of West Georgia, Coker University, Kentucky State University, University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse, Morehead State University, and Edward Waters University. As a distinguished scholar-practitioner, Dr. Graham has seamlessly integrated his administrative and research experience in higher education with academia by serving as a senior researcher, classroom professor and dissertation committee member, publishing scholarship, and presenting research both nationally and internationally related to enrollment management, millennial leadership, student success, educational leadership, and historically black colleges and universities. He serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Higher Education Management (by the American Association of University Administrators). Dr. Graham has received numerous awards for his work in student affairs and higher education to include the Top 40 Under 40 by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, Stellar 50 by NASPA’s African American Knowledge Community and Top 30 under 40 by ACPA’s Pan African Network. Regarded as an HBCU administrative “change maker”, Dr. Graham’s executive leadership strategies have resulted in significant institutional achievements across multiple campuses as noted by the uptick in student success percentages, increased retention rates, the growth of institutional enrollment numbers, and opening of new residence halls providing for institutional stability and longevity. Acknowledged for his successes in creating and implementing ambitious strategic plans and enhancing institutional policy and operation, Dr. Graham has enjoyed higher education and non-profit tenures working across divisional lines for best-in-class institutional, organizational and operational successes. A native of Sumter, South Carolina, Dr. Graham earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Family & Consumer Sciences: Business with a concentration in Child Development from South Carolina State University, a Master of Education degree in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in College Student Affairs from the University of West Georgia, and a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education and Organizational Change from Benedictine University. Dr. Graham is a graduate of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities’ Millennium Leadership Initiative (MLI) and a graduate of the Academic Leadership Academy at The Pennsylvania State University.
