Tonda Liggett
Tonda Liggett
is an Associate Professor and Graduate ESOL Program Director at Linfield University. Dr. Liggett's research focuses on the intersections of race and language in English language teacher education. Within this nexus, she weaves in aspects of critical multicultural education and contemporary immigration to broaden understandings of the varied ways that issues of race, language and culture inform teacher identity and teaching. Most recently she has been examining the role of immigration in multilingual student learning to better prepare teachers for the complex and dynamic experiences that these learners bring to their education.
