Tlou Maggie Masenya

Tlou Maggie Masenya holds PhD in Information Science from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and a Masters in Information Technology from the University of Pretoria (UP). She has 11 years of working experience as a senior lecture in the field of Information Science, Information Systems and Technology at University of South Africa, University of Zululand and Durban University of Technology. She is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems at the Durban University of Technology. She is a distinguished researcher with extensive, impressive national and international research standing and has published numerous book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals within the broad niche area of Digital transformation, ICT4D, Digital preservation and Data Curation, Records and Knowledge Management,Technopreneurship, Digital Entrepreneurship, Cloud Computing, Innovative Pedagogies, Disruptive Technologies and Indigenous Knowledge Systems, which had a positive impact on her scholarly growth. She recently edited four books, published by IGI- Global International Academic Publisher in 2022, 2023 and 2025. Her research publications have consistently pushed the frontiers in Information Science and Technology and related fields and have become highly cited by academics and scholars globally. she is constantly reviewing journal articles and book chapters for Springer, SAJIM, Mousaion, JSASA, IFLA Journals and IGI-Global book chapters, just to name a few. She has also participated and contributed to numerous community engagement research projects throughout her academic career.
