Thomas A. O'Neill

Thomas O’Neill is a professor of psychology and the director of the Industrial-Organizational Psychology program at the University of Calgary. He is a global research leader in the areas of high-performance teamwork, virtual team and leader effectiveness, flexible remote work, human-autonomy teaming, conflict and conflict management, personality, and assessment. His research funding exceeds $6M and he directs the Individual and Team Performance Lab of 15 members, which includes doctoral, post-doctoral, and master's candidates, as well as undergraduate students and staff members. Tom has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles in top academic journals and has worked extensively to translate the science of teamwork into practice through consultations, workshops, public lectures, training, and other resources. He collaborates closely with the University of Calgary's Schulich School of Engineering, working with faculty and students to improve team-based learning and help future engineers develop interpersonal and leadership skills critical for success.
