T. A. Swetha Margaret

Swetha Margaret is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in academia, research, and industry, with expertise spanning Cyber and Network Security, Cloud Computing, Computer Networks, IoT, IIoT, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Stella Maris College, where she brings dedicated teaching experience enriched by earlier roles in the industry with IBM and Citrix. Her industry tenure involved IBM mainframe backend support, task management, and load creation, contributing to her well-rounded skill set. Dr. Margaret earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science following her role as a full-time Doctoral Research Scholar at Quaid E Millath College, Chennai. She holds international certifications from platforms such as IBM, Big Data University, and Udemy in areas like Cloud Computing and Data Science Methodology. Her leadership capabilities are further exemplified by her role as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Stella Maris College, where she oversees the safeguarding of the institution’s information infrastructure. Dr. Margaret's scholarly contributions include over 20 publications in respected international journals, including those indexed in Scopus, IEEE, and Springer. Her academic excellence and research contributions have earned her several prestigious recognitions, including the International Research Excellence Award presented by the International Institute of Organized Research (I2OR) in collaboration with institutions such as Western Sydney University, Green ThinkerZ, and Elsevier’s Mendeley. She was honored with the International Award for Emerging Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Youth Tech Empowerment, presented by the International Centre for Professional Studies & Cultural Exchange. Her innovative spirit is reflected in her patent portfolio, which includes an innovation patent for Un Nanban, an AI-based interactive web and voice application, a design patent for a Smart Walking Stick for visually impaired individuals, and a UK-approved design patent for an Artificial Intelligence Assisted Iris Recognition Scanner for secured passwordless access. Dr. Margaret also represented India as a panelist in the international roundtable Global Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education, organized by the Alamo Colleges District, San Antonio, USA, where she contributed insights into the transformative role of AI in education. She continues to be a visionary educator, researcher, and innovator dedicated to shaping the future of technology and empowering the next generation of tech leaders.
