Dr.
Syed Mairaj Shah
is presently working with the Aga Khan University Hospital as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Off-Campus Hospitals Pakistan. He is associated with AKU since 1992 under various leadership and management positions including Director Operations, Medical Director, Senior Manager Clinical Affairs, Manager Physician Relations, Family Physician and Lecturer, Community Health Sciences. He is a medical graduate of Sindh Medical College Karachi. He did his MCPS in Family Medicine and MBA from the IQRA University, Karachi. In addition to his academic qualifications, Dr. Shah has obtained several international professional certifications in the fields of Healthcare Quality, Management, Leadership and Finance including: • Fellow American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) from American College of Healthcare Executives, USA • Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) from Healthcare Finance Management Association, USA • Certified Professional Health Care Quality (CPHQ), USA • Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr), USA • Certified Quality Professional (CQP), Pakistan He worked as an International Physician Surveyor for the Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) USA for more than a decade and served the Quality and Productivity Society of Pakistan (QPSP) as its Vice-Chairman and Chairman in the past. Dr. Shah is an active member of the American Academy of Family Practice (AAFP), USA; American College of Healthcare Executives, USA; and the Healthcare Financial Management Association, USA.
