Suzana Žilič Fišer
Suzana Žilič Fišer
is a Head of Institute of Media Communication at the University of Maribor. After her studies at the University of Ljubljana, CEU in Budapest, University of Westminster in London and at the PCMLP in Oxford she was a guest lecturer at different universities in Europe. In her research and publications, she mainly focuses on communication, culture, media, media audience and public interest in media. She spent ten years in media industry as a journalist and executive producer. She published a book Public service broadcasting on the market and a book Successful Television management (Peter Lang Publishing). She has published chapters in different books (by Palgrave MacMillan, IGI Global, Routledge communication series) and articles in the international scientific journals. She participated in different international scientific and professional conferences and workshops and coordinated different international projects. From 2011 to 2013 she was the Director General of the European Capital of Culture. From 2013 until 2020 she was designated by European Commission as a member of the selection and monitoring panel for the European Capital of Culture.
