Silvia Mihaela Chelcea
Silvia Chelcea
is a Senior Researcher at the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management, in Bucharest, Romania. She attended the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Bucharest in 1995. Silvia has a PhD in Geography since 2012. She has been working at the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management for more than 25 years, currently being part of the Danube River and the Black Sea Hydrology, Hydrometry Department. Her research activity is focused on hydrological extremes, hydrological characteristics of drought events and the impact of climate change on the hydrological regime. This involves the employment of approaches such as: statistical analysis of water and sediments variability, computation and analysis of hydrological indices and indicators, trends. She is also the author/co-author of scientific articles published in national and international ISI-listed journals.
