Shoji Nagaoka
Shoji Nagaoka
achieved his Bachelor of Engineering degree and master’s degree in Department of Applied Chemistry & Biochemistry from Kumamoto University, Japan, in 1985 and 1988 respectively. He received his Ph. D degree from Kumamoto University, Japan, in 1994. He has been working at Kumamoto Industrial Research Institute, Japan, since 1995. He is engaged in the development of carbon-neutral materials through various collaborative researchwith industry, aca demia and government. He is particularly focused on cellulose and its related materials, the main element of plants, and is actively conducting research on the development of attractive materials that contribute to the SDGs. He is currently a senior researcher at the Kumamoto Industrial Research Institute, a visiting professor in Innovative Development Organization of Kumamoto University, and a part-time lecturer at Nagaoka University of Technology.
