Shinji Okumura
Dr.
Shinji Okumura
holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Monash University, Australia, and is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Information and Communications at Bunkyo University, Japan. His research focuses on technology-mediated task-based language teaching, virtual exchange, and intercultural education. Dr. Okumura has authored a book chapter titled “Enhancing Intercultural Language Learning Through Virtual Exchange and Technology-Mediated Task-Based Language Teaching,” which will be included in R. Vurdien & W. Chambers (Eds.), Technology-Mediated Language Learning and Teaching (IGI Global). He is currently leading virtual exchange projects that introduce Japanese subcultures to students in different countries in higher education, promoting global community engagement and enhancing additional language learning and intercultural competence.
