Sharyar Wani

Dr. Sharyar Wani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Kulliyyah of Information & Communication Technology (KICT), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science at IIUM, and subsequently pursued post-doctoral research at the Centre of Cyber Security, National Defence University of Malaysia, advancing his expertise in cybersecurity and intelligent systems. Following his postdoctoral appointment, he served as a Senior Lecturer at the National Defence University of Malaysia before joining IIUM, where he is an active member of the Computational Intelligence Research Group and contributes to both undergraduate and postgraduate education. His research spans artificial intelligence, information retrieval, data analytics, natural language processing, machine learning, and cybersecurity, with a substantial body of publications in reputable journals and conferences and significant citation impact in his field. At IIUM, Dr. Wani plays a central role in research supervision and scholarly mentorship, guiding students through thesis development and research dissemination while participating in academic service and collaborative research initiatives. His work is recognized for bridging theoretical foundations with practical applications, particularly in areas that address contemporary challenges in intelligent computing and secure information systems. Through his teaching, research leadership, and engagement with interdisciplinary projects, he contributes to the advancement of knowledge within both the national and international academic communities.
