Shannon Chávez-Korell
, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor, licensed psychologist, and Director of Clinical Training in Counseling Psychology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Chávez -Korell’s research focuses on poverty-related stress, racial and ethnic identity development, and extends to the development of culturally sensitive and culturally relevant mental health interventions.
