Dr.
Shalini Singh
is a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Biosciences and Technology, Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University, Lucknow, India. With a strong educational foundation and extensive research background, Dr. Singh has established herself as a dynamic contributor to the scientific community. She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry (2022) from the University of Lucknow under the supervision of Prof. Sudhir Kumar Agarwal, with her doctoral research focusing on the purification and characterization of cathepsin H from buffalo lung. Prior to that, she secured a Master’s degree in Microbiology (2014) from Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, where she was a University Gold Medalist, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology (2012) from Chaudhary Charan Singh University. Dr. Singh’s primary areas of interest include Recombinant DNA Technology, Microbiology, Enzymology, and Bioinformatics. Her technical expertise spans various molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, gene cloning, enzymatic assays, protein purification, and bioinformatics tools including molecular docking and simulation. She has held notable research positions, including Junior Research Fellowships at the University of Lucknow and the Central University of Rajasthan. Her project work at NRCPB, IARI Pusa, involved cloning ectoine biosynthetic genes from Halomonas elongata in E. coli. Dr. Singh has contributed extensively to scientific literature with several peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and editorial projects. Her work is featured in journals like Biochemical and Biophysical Reports, International Journal of Biochemistry and Physiology, Journal of Trace Elements in Medicine and Biology, and Indian Journal of Clinical Biochemistry. She is also a co-editor of upcoming academic books focusing on AI applications in bioremediation and genomics. A recipient of several prestigious awards, she qualified the GATE (2012), ASRB-NET (2016), secured the top rank in the Ph.D. entrance exam, and was honoured with the DST-INSPIRE Fellowship (2015). She also earned accolades for her presentations at national and international conferences. Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Singh actively participates in academic governance. She is a Board of Studies (BOS) member, a steering committee member of the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSD), and contributes to several institutional and departmental committees. Dr. Singh has conducted and participated in numerous workshops and conferences and delivered both oral and poster presentations on diverse biochemical and environmental health topics. Her commitment to scientific inquiry is evident in her robust portfolio of ongoing research and collaborations. In her personal life, Dr. Shalini Singh was born on July 24, 1992, and resides in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. She is married and maintains strong academic ties through professional networks like ORCID, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate.
