Shabir Sofi
Shabir Ahmad Sofi
is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Information Technology at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, with around 17 years of academic and research experience. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from the former Regional Engineering College Srinagar, followed by a Master of Technology in Communication and Information Technology, and later earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, all from NIT Srinagar. As an author and research contributor, Sofi has published numerous works in emerging areas such as Wireless Sensor Networks, the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Big-Data applications, Data Analytics, Precision Agriculture, and Blockchain Technologies. His academic output includes research publications in journals, conference papers, multiple book chapters, books, patents, and review articles, through which he has contributed to research to a large extent. He has actively participated in faculty development programs, delivered technical sessions, and contributed to the advancement of engineering education through his teaching, research activities, publications, and involvement in academic development initiatives.
