Sawani Rodrigo
M. P. Sawani N. Rodrigo
is a molecular pathology postgraduate, researcher, and lecturer affiliated with the International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS), Sri Lanka. She holds a BSc with a major in Genetics, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, and has hands-on experience in molecular biology, gene editing, and translational biomedical research. Her research interests focus on CRISPR/Cas9 technologies, mitochondrial biology, cancer metabolism, and precision medicine. She is particularly interested in how genome-editing tools can be applied to modulate immune responses and target mitochondrial dysfunction in cancer. Her work bridges fundamental molecular mechanisms with emerging therapeutic strategies in cancer and genetic diseases.
