Sara Paredes

Sara Paredes is a dedicated primary and second cycle of basic education school teacher, currently based at Colégio Oceanus in Valadares. She holds a Master’s degree in Education from the School of Education of Porto (2023), where she deepened her understanding of teaching methodologies, reflective practices and child development. With a strong passion for education and research, she embraces her dual role as both educator and investigator. Her pedagogical approach is grounded in reflection and inquiry, guided by the belief that thoughtful and critical analysis of teaching practices leads to more meaningful and effective learning. She sees the classroom not only as a place for learning, but as a space for cultivating curiosity, encouraging critical thinking and inspiring a lifelong love of learning in her students. She continues to collaborate closely with researchers and teachers from the School of Education of Porto, engaging in dialogue and shared practices that contribute to the ongoing improvement of her teaching. This collaboration allows her to remain up to date with current educational research, refine her approaches, and deepen her understanding of how to support pupils' learning in more impactful ways. Her work is driven by a constant desire to improve—both personally and professionally—and to contribute to the development of more inclusive, engaging, and thoughtful educational environments. She is particularly interested in how reflective teaching can support both teacher growth and student success, and how a questioning attitude can open new paths in the educational journey.
