Salma Begum
Dr.
Salma Begum
is an accomplished Area Chair and Assistant Professor of Economics in the Department of General Management, with over 10 years of academic experience. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, a Master’s in Applied Economics, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (Finance), a Bachelor’s in Economics (Honors), and a Bachelor’s in Education from prestigious institutions in India. Dr. Begum has also completed specialized courses, including Public Policy Analysis from the London School of Economics & Political Science, Petroleum Economics & Management, and Econometric Modelling from IIT Roorkee. A member of the Academy of International Business (AIB) and the International Health Economics Association (IHEA), she has organized and managed numerous academic events at her university. Her research interests span Economics, Health, and Sustainability, and she has authored four books and published several papers in renowned journals. Dr. Begum is actively involved in mentoring students for national and international forums and serves as a reviewer for international conferences in the USA, Hong Kong, Poland, and Seoul. In 2023, she was honored with the Global Faculty Award and recognized for her mentorship of disadvantaged youth across India as part of an NGO initiative.
