S. Athinarayanan
S. Athinarayanan
is a seasoned academic and researcher in Computer and Information Technology, with over 16 years of teaching experience, including 7 years post-Ph.D. He currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Technology (2017) from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, with a specialization in medical image processing, particularly focusing on cervical cancer detection using Pap smear images. His academic background includes M.Tech in Computer & IT, M.Sc. Electronics, and B.Sc. Electronics, with multiple university recognitions. Dr. Athinarayanan has published over 30 research papers in Scopus, Web of Science, and UGC CARE-listed journals, authored books and book chapters, filed patents, and has been a resource person in numerous FDPs and conferences. His core areas of research include machine learning, image processing, edge computing, and blockchain networks. A recognized reviewer for several reputed journals, he also actively guides research scholars and contributes to academic governance through roles such as BoS member, IQAC coordinator, and technical committee member. He is a lifetime member of professional bodies like ISTE, IAENG, ISRD, and GERN, and has received accolades including a Best Paper Award at an international conference.
