Rogério Mugnaini
Rogério Mugnaini
is a statistician (2001), master's (2003), and doctorate (2006) in Information Science. He is part of the faculty of the Department of Information and Culture at the School of Communications and Arts (ECA) at the University of São Paulo (USP), where he coordinates CiMetrias (Research Group in Science and Technology Metrics). He works as a professor and is currently the coordinator of the Graduate Program in Information Science at ECA-USP. He has experience in coordinating national and international research projects on the following topics: bibliometrics, scientometrics, evaluation of national scientific production, indicators, information sources, scientific policy, and open science. He conducted research internships at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Leiden University. He served on committees both within the university (Vice-President of the Accreditation Committee of the Program for Support to Scientific Periodical Publications of USP, between 2010 and 2016) and at the national level (Triennial Evaluations 2013 and Quadrennial Evaluations 2017 and 2021 in the area of Communication and Information - CAPES). He is an affiliated member of the National Association of Research and Graduate Studies in Information Science (ANCIB) and the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics (ISSI). He worked at BIREME/PAHO/WHO (2003-2009), where he developed the Bibliometrics Module of the SciELO Project.
