Ray Gallon

Ray Gallon is co-founder of The Transformation Society, a research and consulting organisation oriented to social transformation, dealing with complexity and technological change for business executives, educators, and other society leaders. He is also the owner of Culturecom, a company that provides business process improvement through communication. Ray has over 40 years as a communicator, first as an award-winning radio producer and journalist (CBC, NPR, France Culture, Radio Netherlands International, Westdeutscher Rundfunk, Deutsche Welle), then in the content industries. His management experience includes a stint as programme manager of WNYC-FM, New York City’s public radio station. Ray has always been interested in the meeting point between technology and culture, and has used his broad experience to advantage with companies such as IBM, General Electric Health Care, Alcatel, 3M, and the OECD, as well as in smaller companies and startup enterprises. As an educator, Ray was associate professor at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, in the Film/TV/Radio department, and has led workshops and courses at institutions around the world, notably The New School Graduate Media Programme (New York), Université Paul Valéry (Montpellier, France), Centre d’Etudes Littéraires et Scientifiques Appliquées (CELSA, Paris Sorbonne), Université de Paris Diderot, Université de Toulouse Le Mirail, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Temasek Polytechnic (Singapore), and other institutions in Europe and North America. He is currently co-chair of the Primary and Pre-primary Education Research and Development Community of the Association of Teacher Educators in Europe (ATEE) and teaches Masters Level courses in Radio at the Universitat de Barcelona school of Belles Arts, and is developing a new Masters level course in Information Techniques for the Université de Strassbourg (France). He is a keynote speaker at events throughout the world, has contributed articles and chapters to many books and periodicals and is the editor of the recently published “Language of Technical Communication” (XML Press). Ray shares his life between the Languedoc region of France and Barcelona, Spain.
