Raj A. Varma
Dr.
Raj Varma
is working as Assistant Professor of Law since 1st September 2018 at Symbiosis Law School, Pune which is a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), India. He is an expert in Innovation Law, Sustainable Development Law, AI Law. Besides that, he has a keen interest in EU Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Corruption Law, International Law etc. Dr. Raj also has expertise in writing and executing research projects. Dr. Raj is a key member of the International Cell, SCALSAR which is a specialized research wing of Symbiosis Law School, Pune; Alumni Cell and Law Hawks Cell. He is a key member who is involved in the execution four Erasmus+ CBHE projects that are being executed by his institution. These projects are: - European Studies Revitalized Across Asian Universities (EURASIA) - Teacher training with specialization on life and information technology skills (21st TS) - Curricula development on Climate Change Policy and Law (CCP_Law) - International Law and Forced Migration (ILFM) Dr. Raj has also been involved in developing the SPARC Project titled: Legal and Ethical Framework for Use of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare sector with special reference to Patient Safety at SLS Pune which has recently begun. He has been involved in these projects right from the inception to ensuring key deliverables. As a part of these project’s he has visited the EU and various Asian countries on multiple occasions for receiving specialized training for developing course curricula as per best practices and implementing the skills and best practices learnt within the curriculum. He has also assisted in developing niche courses in EU Legal Studies, AI Law that are now taught at his institute. Besides the above he was a core member of his institution team that received the prestigious Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute grant for organizing a conference on “Right to Breathe Clean Air: Health and Environment-related SDGs” Dr. Raj Varma has also presented his research at prestigious international conferences and has also been invited to various events as a judge, panellist, speaker, and resource person. Dr. Raj is a published author and his publication has been cited in a UN Report for Sustainable Development. He has been an invited speaker at International Conferences and Training State Police Officials, and officers of Defence Accounts. Dr. Raj has also been a winner of awards like the IELTS Award for pursuing doctoral research in the UK. He has also participated in many skill development and leadership development programmes.
