R. Sakthivel
, Professor & Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) at DMI – St. Eugene University, Zambia holds Ph.D. in Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology from Madras University, M.Phil. & M.Sc. Degree from Madras University, B.Sc. Degree from Bharathidasan University, Master in Education from Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University and Bachelor in Education from Bharathiyar University. He has served in various capacities from Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Professor, Head of the Department, Vice Principal, Principal – Academic, Registrar and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) in Colleges such as DMI – St. Eugene University, Zambia - Central Africa, St. Joseph University College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Songea, Tanzania, East Africa and St. Joseph University in Tanzania, Arusha Campus, Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa. Presently he is working as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) for DMI – St. Eugene University, Zambia, Central Africa. His outstanding work has been widely recognized as he has won the Best Researcher Award, Top 50 International Distinguished Academic Leaders 2020, Academic Excellence Awards - 2019 for Distinguished Principal, Outstanding Contribution in Leadership - 2019, Young Scientist Award - 2018, the Bharat Ratna Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam award - 2011 and he was awarded Senior Research Fellow by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO). As a researcher, he has published 47 research articles in both International and National peer reviewed journals with Impact factor, NCBI – Genbank publications 30, Blog Publications 1, Patent 1 and he has published 6 books.
