Pranjal K. Baruah

Pranjal K. Baruah completed his Master's in Chemistry, securing 1st Class and 2nd Rank from Dibrugarh University, India. He pursued his Ph.D. under the guidance of Professor G. J. Sanjayan at NCL, Pune, specializing in molecular recognition. His first postdoctoral research was with Professor Harold Kohn at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA, where he focused on medicinal chemistry. After receiving the prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship, he moved to the University of Oxford, UK, working with Professor Martin D. Smith on the design and synthesis of foldamers and their application in asymmetric catalysis. In 2011, Dr. Baruah joined Gauhati University as an Assistant Professor, where he now serves as a Professor. He has published over 70 internationally recognized papers and several book chapters. His research interests include developing novel methodologies for heterocyclic molecules, C-H functionalization, multi-component reactions, catalysis, peptidomimetics, and foldamers.
