Noushin Nouri
Noushin Nouri
(PI), Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Science Education in the Department of Teaching and Learning at UTRGV. Dr. Nouri's research focuses on the nature of science and the best practices to teach it, STEM curriculum development for the Latinx population, culturally relevant science instruction, translanguaging in science instruction, and phenomenon-based learning. She is the PI on an NSF grant focused on implementing PhBL for preservice teachers. Dr. Nouri is also co-PI on 1 NIFA grant and serves as a program evaluator on one NSF and one USDA grant. She has undergraduate and master's degrees in physics and 18 years of experience teaching high school physics prior to earning her doctorate from the University of Arkansas. Dr. Nouri teaches several science methods and science education courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
