Nerma Saracevic
Nerma Saračević
earned her PhD in Social Sciences from the Faculty of Economics, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia. She is a specialist in entrepreneurship, Islamic finance, and investment, bringing more than 20 years of professional experience across banking, insurance, and early-stage growth funds. She currently serves as Finance Planning & Investment Manager at the Mozaik Foundation, where she leads the analysis, structuring, and validation of Tech 4 Impact Fund investments and mentors impact-driven start-ups. Her academic profile is further strengthened by an Executive Diploma in Islamic Finance & Entrepreneurship (Al Maktoum College, Scotland) and a specialist programme at Durham Business School, UK, which have shaped her research focus on ethical finance, credit-risk assessment, and SME sustainability. She is an occasional visiting lecturer at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST), and the Faculty of Economics, University of Sarajevo, contributing to curriculum development in entrepreneurship and venture investing. Dr Saračević sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Islamic Economic Laws (Indonesia) and reviews for the Turkish Journal of Islamic Economics. In 2024 she was elected to the Board of Directors of the Bosnian business-women’s association “SHE”. Her scholarly output includes book chapters, peer-reviewed articles, and conference papers (SASE, RED). For her contributions to advancing Islamic finance and women’s empowerment in the financial sector, Cambridge IFA honoured her with the WOMANi Influencer award (2023 and 2024) and listed her among the 10 most influential women in Islamic finance. Through interdisciplinary research and practice, Dr Saračević actively connects academia, investors, and socially responsible entrepreneurs, advocating financial models that balance profit, ethics, and sustainable development.
