Natalie A. Drozda
, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, is an Associate Professor at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. She recently co-authored a chapter on complex crises in Trauma Counseling: Theories and Interventions for Managing Stress, Crisis, Trauma, and Disaster (Levers, 2nd ed., in press, Springer), developed the Trauma-informed Counseling course at Slippery Rock, and is committed to infusing trauma-informed andragogy throughout counselor education curriculum. She began her clinical work on a crisis hotline, worked for five years in an inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility, and currently sees individuals in the college setting and in private practice, with treatment focusing primarily upon trauma, relationship stressors, addiction, and sexuality concerns. Additionally, she has served as an expert witness on numerous sex offense cases, providing forensic evaluations and recommendations regarding substance use treatment, trauma treatment, and recidivism risk. Dr. Drozda's research interests include multiple facets of diversity including sexuality, neurodiversity, and gender. She is interested in the connections between trauma, addiction, and offense behaviors.
