Naseem Akhter

Dr. Naseem Akhter Khattak is an Associate Professor in the Department of Islamic Studies at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar, Pakistan. She holds a PhD in Analytical Study of Prevalent Family Laws of Pakistan in the view of Quran and Sunnah with a research focus on the intersection of religion, ethics, and laws. Her academic interests include Islamic perspectives on international relations, environmental ethics, peace and conflict studies, and the role of values in shaping global governance. Dr. Khattak has published research articles and book chapters on Islamic thought, social justice, and contemporary global challenges, and has presented her work at national and international conferences. She has also contributed to discussions on the integration of faith-based perspectives in sustainability and environmental studies, highlighting how religious worldviews can inform inclusive and culturally grounded approaches to global issues. Her current research explores the role of Islamic ethics in addressing climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development, with a particular interest in bridging disciplinary divides between the natural sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. By situating Islam as a living knowledge system, her work seeks to foster interdisciplinary dialogue that advances both scholarship and practice.
